“My task which I am trying to achieve is, by the power of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel — it is, before all, to make you see. That — and no more, and it is everything. If I succeed, you shall find there according to your deserts: encouragement, consolation, fear, charm — all you demand; and, perhaps, also that glimpse of truth for which you have forgotten to ask.”
– Joseph Conrad
No matter what your business is or does, you need a writer.
And no one needs writers more than a writer. Why? A good writer should read voraciously.
I am foremost a learner with a gnawing appetite for reading. By consuming different forms of written content daily, I inform and improve my craft. To excel at what I do and feed my lust for learning, I read it all: blogs (the good and the terrible), historical biographies, poetry, biased news articles touted as unbiased, religious texts, philosophy, cheesy novels, captivating ads, blockchain whitepapers, the list goes on.
So, when you are hiring a writer, your first question should always be, “How much do you read?”
Based on your satisfaction (or lack thereof) with that question, your second qualification should be adaptability. A good writer is a chameleon, adapting their voice to effectively get your message across to your customers. Pedestrian language for a blog on apple cider vinegar won’t cut it in a press release. Tone must shift appropriately to reach the emotions and/or reasoning of the audience. A good writer must figure out what those applicable emotions and sensibilities are and appeal to them with an authentic voice.
The first step is to pick your brain. Tell me what you need, what you want to achieve. Tell me everything. I will ask tons of questions to embody your brand’s vibe and voice. Together we will drive your sales and your traffic with the power of authentic messaging.

And relax. You’ve found the writer you need.
